Stamp on the name of the Chief Minister of Karnataka! Announcement will be made today, DK Shivkumar is also reaching Delhi

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge held meetings with the three observers, party general secretaries KC Venugopal and Randeep Surjewala to choose the new Chief Minister of Karnataka. Meanwhile, DK Shivakumar’s brother and Lok Sabha member DK Suresh also met the party president.

In whose hands will the command of Karnataka go? There is still suspense on this. After Congress’ landslide victory in the state, 135 MLAs handed over the responsibility of choosing the CM from among Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar to the party president. However, still no decision has been taken on this. But by this evening, the party will announce the next chief minister. Rajya Sabha MP and Karnataka Congress in-charge Randeep Surjewala has said that the party will announce its decision by this evening.

Marathon meetings are going on for the election of the CM since the declaration of the results. The National President held a meeting with the three observers and discussed the secret ballot, in which the legislators told whom they wanted to be the chief minister. Apart from this, Kharge also had meetings with Surjewala and party general secretary KC Venugopal. Meanwhile, DK Shivakumar’s brother and Lok Sabha member DK Suresh also met party president Kharge.

Amidst all this upheaval, DK Shivkumar will also reach Delhi by this evening. Currently he is in Bangalore due to stomach infection. However, Siddaramaiah reached Delhi on Monday evening itself and today his supporters MB Patil, RV Jeshpande, Jamir Ahmed, KJ Dorj, Ashok Pattan and Bairathi Suresh will also reach Delhi in support of him. Siddaramaiah is confident that the majority wants him to be the chief minister.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no… Now DK Shivkumar said – I am not going to Delhi, will Siddaramaiah’s path become easier or will there be a twist in Karnataka?

At the same time, Shivakumar has accepted that he does not have the support of majority MLAs, but he claims that it is because of his hard work that the party has won so many seats in Karnataka. He reiterated that he had taken over the leadership of Karnataka Congress in difficult times and has fulfilled the promise made to Sonia Gandhi at that time. He said, “I don’t have the strength to speak about others’ numbers, my strength is 135. I am the party president and under my chairmanship the party has won 135 seats in Karnataka against the double engine government and corrupt administration.”

On the other hand, party sources said that 90 of the 135 MLAs have Siddaramaiah as their first choice for the Chief Minister. He said that on the pressure of Siddaramaiah, the three observers took the opinion of the MLAs individually. The legislators were asked to write either one name of their choice, or more than one name in the order of their choice, or only the high command was given the option to decide. In this, majority of the MLAs endorsed Siddaramaiah, whereas, the MLAs of Shivakumar faction refrained from giving their opinion and left the decision to the party high command.
