Suchitra Krishnamurthy revealed that her daughter Kaveri thought her life was ‘too boring’, so she requested her mother to go on at least 15 dates.
Actress Suchitra Krishnamurthy and filmmaker Shekhar Kapur tied the knot in 1997, but they parted ways in 2007. Shekhar and Suchitra have a daughter named Kaveri Kapoor, whom they co-parent. Kaveri is also a singer and may soon try her hand at acting career as well. The actress has now revealed that her daughter set her up on a dating app as she felt Suchitra’s life was ‘extremely sad’.
In an interview to Bollywood Hungama, Suchitra said, “When she was leaving for college, she felt very bad. He said, ‘Mother, your life is very sad. You can’t be alone, I’ve been so dedicated to my daughter, in a way my life revolves around her. So he said, “Your life is very sad. You will be bored when I go. And then he made me promise that ‘you can’t delete the app as soon as I leave, you have to go on a date’. I think he asked me on 15 dates, but I went on 4 or 5.”
The actress further added, “And I met some very, very nice people. I am still in touch with some of them and they are my good friends. Earlier I used to think ‘What am I doing?’ But then I thought what was the shame? I felt very proud of myself that I could allow myself to do something like this. Then I immediately deleted the app. I met some really cool people through that app, some of whom are now my friends.”
Suchitra had earlier spoken openly about her divorce and said that Kaveri was deeply affected by what happened between her and Shekhar. The Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa actress had also said that Kaveri has gone through childhood trauma.
