Tata Motors has not yet made any official announcement regarding the launch of Tata Punch EV. But soon a big update is expected from the company regarding its launch.
Tata Motors is currently the company with the largest range of electric cars and is constantly launching electric versions of its existing petrol cars. In which a new name has been added to Tata Motors’ popular sub-compact SUV Tata Punch, which after launching in CNG variant, the company is preparing to launch its full electric avatar (Tata Punch EV).
Tata Punch EV: Style and Features
Talking about the exterior of the Tata Punch EV, it is going to be quite similar to its ICE based sibling. According to the RUSHLANE website, a digital render of the upcoming Tata Punch Electric has been prepared based on the leaked spy shots. The Punch EV will continue with the same front fascia found on the petrol variant. There will be a charging port in its rear side where the petrol filling lade is.
As per reports, the Tata Punch EV could be offered with some unique badging on the front grille which will hint towards the electric heart of the car. The Punch EV Punch could be offered with more changes than the ICE variant. For instance, the test mule we spotted recently was spotted with a rear disc brake. The current petrol variant gets disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear.
Talking about the interior, most of the features of this Punch EV will be similar to the existing ICE based Punch. This includes a floating 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, premium upholstery, flat bottom steering wheel, automatic climate control, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
A rotary dial has been seen on the inside of the testing mule which means that the car could also feature the electronic parking brake that the company has given on the Nexon EV Max. This feature works automatically by default and can also be controlled manually.
Tata Punch EV: EV range
According to reports, considering the segment and size of Tata Punch, the company can launch its electric version with a range of 300 km. In this SUV, the company can use two battery packs with some updates which are found in the current Tata Tiago EV. If the company launches it with two battery packs, then it can get a range of 250 to 315 km on the lines of Tiago EV.
The Punch EV is likely to get some upgrades as Tata Motors continues to improve its Ziptron electric vehicle platform. Tata Punch EV will get three riding modes in which the first is Eco, the second is City and the third is Sport.
