The impasse on the budget draft between the Telangana government and the governor was resolved with the intervention of the High Court, but many bills are still pending

Telangana: After discussion with Special Chief Secretary (Finance) K Ramakrishna Rao on Monday, assurance has been given by the Governor that she will clear all the Bills after completing them.

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan: The ongoing impasse between Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and the state’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government has been resolved following the intervention of the High Court. In fact, the state government and the governor had become deadlocked over the governor not approving the draft budget. In such a situation, this matter had reached the High Court.

In fact, the deadlock may have been averted, but both Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and the state government have been complaining to each other. Let us tell you that Soundararajan has to clear at least four bills passed by the assembly last year. At the same time, the minister in the Chandrasekhar Rao government has alleged that the governor is behaving like a BJP spokesperson.

For the time being, all eyes are now on whether the governor reads out or makes changes to the speech prepared by the government at the beginning of the budget session in Telangana beginning on February 3. If there is a situation of confrontation, a situation like Tamil Nadu can arise in Telangana. Where the DMK government objected to the deletion of parts of the speech by Governor RN Ravi. After which Governor RN Ravi walked out of the house.

Deadlock over not passing the bill:

There have been frequent standoffs between Soundararajan and the state government over non-clearance of files. It may be mentioned that the BRS government had sent the list of prisoners to be released from jail to the Governor sometime before the Independence Day last year. On this list, the governor wrote a letter to the government seeking clarification on the remission of sentence of 80 prisoners.

Explain that after about five months, the governor has sent a note on the list sent by the government, in which the government has been asked to re-examine. The governor said that the government should consider whether all the prisoners are eligible for release? However, amid this attitude, Governor Sundararajan approved the GST (Amendment) Bill, 2022 on Tuesday (January 31). Which was pending with him for six months. Let us tell you that the government had presented the budget last year without the traditional address of the governor, due to which a dispute had arisen between the governor and the state government.

After discussion with Special Chief Secretary (Finance) K Ramakrishna Rao on Monday, assurance has been given by the Governor that she will give approval after completing all the Bills.
