Manipur: PM Narendra Modi said that in any corner of this country, in any state government, the importance of law and order and respect for women is above politics and debate.
PM Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the incident in Manipur. He said that the incident in Manipur is shameful for any civilized society. PM Narendra Modi said that there are so many other people who commit crimes, they are at their place but the whole country is being insulted. 140 crore countrymen are feeling ashamed.
PM Narendra Modi further said, “I urge all the Chief Ministers to further strengthen the law and order situation in their states. Take the harshest steps especially to protect our mothers and sisters.
He said, “In any corner of this country, in any state, the importance of law and order and the respect of women is higher than politics and debate. I assure the countrymen that no culprit will be spared. The law will take one step after another with all its force and rigor. What has happened to these daughters of Manipur will never be forgiven.”
Amit Shah spoke to the CM of Manipur
Regarding the incident with two women in Manipur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Manipur Chief Minister N. Spoke to Biren Singh. Earlier, Manipur CM N. Biren Singh tweeted, “My condolences to the two women who were subjected to the most humiliating and inhuman act.”
He said that soon after the video surfaced, taking suo motu cognizance of the incident, the Manipur Police swung into action and made the first arrest this morning. A thorough investigation is currently underway and we will ensure that strict action is taken against all perpetrators, including the possibility of capital punishment.
