He said that no purpose would be served by banning the film as it was not against any community but against terrorism.

Banerjee said that the law and order of the state could deteriorate with this film. Commenting on Mamata Banerjee’s statement, Sarma said, ‘The Kerala Story’ shows a conspiracy hatched against innocent girls, including girls from the Muslim community. Sarma said that the people of Bengal government should have seen the film before banning it.
