Tillu Tajpuriya Murder: Tihar Jail Administration in action, transfer of 99 officers, dreaded gangsters being sent to separate cells
Tihar Jail’s DG (Prisons) has ordered transfer of 99 officers including Assistant Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Head Warder and Warder.
In a major reshuffle in Delhi’s Tihar Jail, 99 jail officials were transferred on Thursday (May 11). The move comes after CCTV footage of Tillu Tajpuria’s murder surfaced. In fact, Tillu, the main accused in the Rohini Court shootout, was stabbed to death by fellow inmates in Tihar Jail. It can be seen in the CCTV footage that the attack took place in front of the uniformed personnel and they did not intervene.
Dreaded gangsters are being sent to different jails
After which nine officers of Tihar Jail including the Assistant Superintendent were suspended in this case. Moreover, sources told news agency ANI that the jail administration has started making a list of dreaded gangsters lodged inside Tihar and shifting them to different cells. Sources said that the Tihar administration has started the work as they are anticipating another gang war inside the jail.
The sources further said that in the wake of the murder of Tillu Tajpuria by the Gogi gang members, the administration is shifting all the inmates to separate cells, which will be away from the cells of their rival gang members. Sources in Tihar Jail said, “In total, Tihar Jail has more than thousand inmates including big gangsters and their henchmen. These mainly include prisoners who are in silent mode and suddenly attack their rival gang members. He said that there are around 30-35 prisoners whose security is in danger.
Bunty, brother of gangster Tillu Tajpuria’s aide, committed suicide. Delhi Police said the family members heard gunshots yesterday and found him lying in a pool of blood. He was declared brought dead at the hospital.
