Train Accident: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav got the support of this former PM, said – he is working tirelessly
Former PM HD Deve Gowda has praised Ashwini Vaishnav for his work after the train accident.
After the Balasore Train Accident, many political parties of the country have demanded the resignation of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, but in the meantime, he has got the support of the country’s former PM HD Deve Gowda. Former PM Deve Gowda has praised Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.
Talking to news agency ANI, he said that the Railway Minister has taken all necessary steps to compensate for the damage caused by the accident. He is working tirelessly. Let the investigation be completed.
Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda said, “The Railway Minister has taken all necessary steps to compensate for the loss and restart the rail route. I see that he worked tirelessly for the last 55 hours. CBI investigation is a different subject, I will not comment on that.
He further said, “The Congress leadership has taken a different stand. My party will not comment considering politics. Let the inquiry be completed, Railway Minister is giving his best. The demand for the resignation of the Railway Minister is not correct at this time.
Congress bid – Rail accident investigation only ‘headline management’
After the Balasore train accident, the Congress is continuously attacking the central government. The Congress has alleged that the announcement of the CBI probing the incident is an attempt at ‘headline management’ by the government. Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that in 2016, it was announced that the NIA would investigate the accident near Kanpur, but it is not yet known what the result of that investigation was.
Jairam Ramesh tweeted, “CBI inquiry was announced even before the Commissioner of Railway Safety submitted his report on the Balasore train accident. This is nothing but headline management.”
He said, “Now remember this incident. On 20 November 2016, the Indore-Patna Express derailed near Kanpur. More than 150 people lost their lives in this. The then Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu wrote a letter to the Union Minister on 23 January 2017 demanding an NIA probe into the incident. On 24 February 2017, the Prime Minister said that the Kanpur train accident was a conspiracy.
Ramesh claimed, “On October 21, 2018, news published in newspapers said that NIA would not file any charge sheet in this case. As of June 6, 2023, there is no official information on what is the final report of the NIA on the Kanpur train accident. No accountability.”
