Truecaller has launched a new feature to protect its users from cybercrime. Truecaller has launched a verified contact digital directory through which users can check whether the caller is a government official or a fraudster. With the help of the new feature, Truecaller users can contact government officials and add phone numbers of ministers and officers to the app.

The Government Directory in this in-app includes the numbers of 20 Central Ministries of more than 23 States and Union Territories of the country. The information related to these numbers has been taken directly from government and official sources.
Truecaller says that new numbers of different departments and states will also be included in the app.

In the coming days, Truecaller plans to add contact numbers at the district (district) and municipal level as well. With the help of this, citizens will be able to know for themselves whether the caller is really a government official or a fraud, fraud and spam. When a government official calls a user, a blue tick along with a green background will also appear and it means the number is verified.
With the new feature, Truecaller users can easily contact local authorities for any kind of help or information. At the moment, this feature is available on the Android version of the app but there is no information regarding the arrival of this feature on Apple’s iOS version.
It is worth noting that recently Truecaller had launched many new features in the app like urgent messages, sharable smart cards and smart SMS.
