UP Politics: Apna Dal (S) and SBSP dissolved all units in UP, know the big reason

UP Politics: After the Lok Sabha election results, BJP allies in Uttar Pradesh, Apna Dal (Sonelal) and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) dissolved all units of their respective parties in the state. This decision taken by the national presidents of both the parties is being seen in the light of their poor performance in the recently concluded elections.

In the Lok Sabha elections, Apna Dal (Sonelal) contested two seats in UP and lost one, while SBSP lost its only seat Ghosi. Apna Dal national president Anupriya Patel won the Lok Sabha election from Mirzapur seat. Apna Dal (Sonelal) and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) are considered to have considerable influence in the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh.

On Saturday, SBSP’s national chief general secretary Arvind Rajbhar issued a letter stating that as per the instructions of the party’s national president OP Rajbhar, all the major units of the party including the UP executive, regional, district, divisional, assembly and block level units of Poorvanchal, Madhyanchal, Bundelkhand and Paschimanchal and all fronts and cells have been dissolved.

In the seat sharing with BJP in the Lok Sabha elections, SBSP was given only one seat, Ghosi. OP Rajbhar’s son Arvind Rajbhar contested the election and lost to Rajiv Rai of Samajwadi Party by 162,943 votes. Arvind Rajbhar got 340,188 votes.

OP Rajbhar, a cabinet minister in the Yogi Adityanath government, returned to the NDA in February after nearly four years. The SBSP contested the 2022 assembly elections with the Samajwadi Party and won six seats.

SBSP national chief spokesperson Arun Rajbhar said Saturday’s decision was aimed at bringing about radical changes in the organisation, which would include giving opportunities to new members at the district level and promoting old members in the party.

Meanwhile, Apna Dal (S) national secretary Munnar Prajapati recently informed through a letter that all state, regional, district and assembly level executives have been dissolved in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh as per the instructions of party national president Anupriya Patel. Prajapati clarified, “All party units of Uttar Pradesh have been dissolved, not at the national level.” He said that there are many reasons behind this, including the recent elections.
