UP Politics: Former minister Dara Singh Chauhan can join BJP today, know how was his political journey
Loksabha Election 2024: Just before the elections, BJP has started its preparations. BJP has done the work of taking two big faces of Uttar Pradesh, Om Prakash Rajbhar and Dara Singh Chauhan in its fold.
Just before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the top leadership of the BJP is busy consolidating its hold in a big state like Uttar Pradesh. After inducting Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar into the NDA, the BJP in UP has now succeeded in bringing along Dara Singh Chauhan, a prominent Purvanchal leader. On Monday at 12 noon, Dara Singh joined the BJP in the presence of state Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak. Recently Dara Singh Chauhan had met Home Minister Amit Shah. After this he had resigned from the post of Ghosi MLA. There is also talk of Dara Singh Chauhan joining the Yogi cabinet.
Who is Dara Singh Chauhan?
Purvanchal’s big leader and former minister Dara Singh Chauhan has resigned from the Samajwadi Party and the post of MLA. Dara Singh Chauhan is a senior leader of his society and he has hold in 20 districts along with Mau. Dara Singh Chauhan started his political journey in the year 1996. The Bahujan Samajwadi Party made him a member of the Rajya Sabha. In the year 2000, BSP again sent him to Rajya Sabha.
In 2009, he contested and won the Ghosi Lok Sabha seat on a BSP ticket. Dara Singh Chauhan joined BJP in the year 2015. He contested the 2017 UP Assembly elections on a BJP ticket and won. He was made a minister in the Yogi government. Just before the elections in 2022, he left the BJP and joined the Samajwadi Party. He contested the 2022 election from Ghosi assembly on SP ticket and won.
What will happen to Dara Singh Chauhan now?
According to information received from sources, three options have been given to Dara Singh Chauhan. The first option is that he can be made a minister in the first cabinet expansion of the Yogi government and contest the by-election again on the vacant Ghosi assembly seat. On the other hand, as another option, he can be actively brought into the politics of Delhi and he can be made a Union Minister in the Modi government and in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he is expected to contest from Ghosi on a BJP ticket. At the same time, as a third option, he can be sent to Rajya Sabha.
