US Senate approves Arun Subramaniam as judge, will work in New York’s District Court

Senate Leader Chuck Schumer said, “We have confirmed Arun Subramanian as SDNI judge. He is the son of an overseas Indian and has become the first South Asian person to become a judge of this district court. He has dedicated his career to fighting for the people.

About Arun Subramanian

Subramanian was born in 1979 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His parents immigrated to the US from India in the early 1970s. His father worked as a ‘control systems engineer’ in several companies and his mother also worked. He received a bachelor’s degree in computer science and English from Case Western Reserve University in 2001.

He is currently a partner at Sussman Godfrey LLP in New York, where he has been practicing since 2007. Subramanian worked as a law clerk to US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg from 2006 to 2007.
