Congress on Nitish Kumar: A day after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said he was waiting for a signal from the Congress to work towards bringing all opposition parties together. In response to this, the Congress said on Sunday that the party knows its role very well.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said in the 11th General Convention of CPI-M on Saturday (February 18, 2023) that we are waiting for you (Congress) to take a quick decision. If they follow my suggestion and fight together, they (BJP) will go below 100, but if they don’t follow my suggestion then you know what will happen. He had said that the Congress should now take a further decision. Congress should not delay in opposition unity. We are waiting. Congress should call the opposition leaders and decide from where with whom to contest the elections.

Some parties would have attended the meeting of the opposition, but would have worked in the interest of the BJP: Congress

On this statement of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Congress took a dig at some opposition parties, saying that it is not like some parties, which attend opposition meetings, but later work in the interest of the BJP. Around 15,000 delegates including 1,800 AICC delegates from across the country are expected to participate in the session.

Many opposition parties go to the meetings called by Mallikarjun Kharge, but later their actions are in the interest of the ruling party. We are not two faced. We only have one mouth.

Ramesh said that the Congress has already tied up with other parties in several states. He said that when it comes to alliance, you forget that we are in alliance in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Maharashtra, Jharkhand. We are in alliance in many states of the Northeast. It is wrong to say that Congress does not form alliances before elections. There are many states where we are in alliance before the elections.
