NDTV founder Prannoy Roy and his wife Radhika Roy sold 27.26 percent of their remaining 32.26 percent stake in NDTV Media Company to the Adani Group. The combined holding of the two in NDTV is 32.26 per cent, while the Adani group now holds 37.44 per cent in the company. According to the statement, Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy retain a five per cent stake in NDTV.

Roy further added that AMG Media Network is now the largest shareholder in NDTV after the recent open offer. Accordingly, we have mutually decided to sell majority of our shares in NDTV to AMG Media Network. Since the launch of the Open Offer, our discussions with Mr. Gautam Adani have been positive. The Adani Group positively accepted all the suggestions made by us. Adani has invested in a brand that is synonymous with trust, reliability and independence.
NDTV’s foundation was laid in 1988
NDTV was founded in 1988 by Pranab Roy and Radhika Roy. In the beginning, Pranav Roy used to bring a program called ‘The World This Week’ on Doordarshan which used to make a lot of headlines in those days. A decade after this, in 1998, NDTV started India’s first 24 × 7 news channel in association with Star News, but later Star News separated from NDTV. NDTV looked after the production of Star News.
