Weather Forecast: Severe cold will prevail in Delhi, Haryana, snowfall forecast in Kashmir before new year
IMD Weather Forecast 25 December: Winter is increasing in Kashmir. The minimum temperature at most places in the valley was settling five to six degrees below the freezing point. However, due to the activation of Western Disturbance once again, the weather in Kashmir may take a turn from Monday. There is a possibility of snowfall before the new year.
Weather Update In North India: On the occasion of Christmas, people in North-West India including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan will have to face severe cold. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of severe cold wave in these states for the next two days. Thereafter, however, both the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to increase by about 2-3 degrees over Delhi during December 27 to 30.
Minimum temperature drops in Kashmir Valley
A drop in the minimum temperature has been recorded at most places in the Kashmir Valley. Meteorological Department officials gave this information on Saturday. However, the Meteorological Department has predicted relief from the cold due to cloud cover due to western disturbance for a few days from Monday. According to the department, the minimum temperature in Srinagar was minus 5.4 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Pahalgam and Gulmarg was minus 6.4 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of cloudy weather between 26-30 December.
The minimum temperature in Delhi will be in the range of 3 to 4 degrees.
The Meteorological Department said that Delhi (Safdarjung) recorded the lowest minimum temperature on Friday from December 1 to December 24, which was 5.3 degrees. He said that due to northwesterly winds and low cloud cover in the coming days in Delhi, the temperature may drop by about 2-3 degrees till December 26 and the minimum temperature will be in the range of 3 to 4 degrees.
During these two days, there will be cold wave at most places in Delhi. During December 27 to 30, both the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to increase by about 2-3 degrees. In many districts of Rajasthan, the cold has increased due to the drop in temperature. According to the Meteorological Department, a change in the weather can be seen in the next few days due to the active Western Disturbance.
No significant change in minimum temperature is likely over Northwest India during next 4-5 days. Before the end of the year, there will be a drop in temperature from December 27 to December 31. The mercury can go up to 7 degrees. On December 27, the sky will be clear, there will be fog in the morning. Similar conditions will continue till December 30 and the minimum temperature can remain at 7 degrees.
