Dense fog will occur in these states
Dense to very dense fog very likely at most places during night and morning hours over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Bihar, North Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh during next 48 hours. Along with this, there is a possibility of dense fog in the hill states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
AQI in Delhi in severe category
Let us inform that the Air Quality Index (AQI) is also falling in Delhi and it has reached the dangerous category. Let us tell you that according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the 24-hour Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi stood at 342 at 4 pm. Delhi University area recorded AQI 365 while AQI 304 was recorded near ITO. Patparganj recorded an AQI of 427, while Vivek Vihar recorded an AQI of 335. Whereas AQI 394 was recorded in Jahangirpuri area.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered good. While those between 51 and 100 are considered satisfactory, those between 101 and 200 moderate, those between 201 and 300 poor. An AQI between 301 and 400 is considered very poor and an AQI between 401 and 500 is considered severe.
There may be severe cold for the next two days
At the same time, meteorologists have predicted further drop in temperature in the next two days. There is a possibility of more fog in the morning. According to reports, Bathinda in Punjab is particularly badly affected by the fog. Dr Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the Regional Weather Forecasting Centre, said on Thursday that dense fog is likely to prevail in Delhi-NCR for the next two to three days, while the temperature in Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan will rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius. There may be reduction of degree.
