Weather Updates Today: In many states of North India including Delhi, the cold has increased and melting is taking place. In Delhi-NCR, the melting is very high and the minimum temperature can be 5 degree Celsius. On the other hand, the maximum temperature in Delhi today can be recorded at 20 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there may be a cold wave in Delhi on 25 and 26 December. The minimum temperature can be recorded at 4 degrees in these two days.
Cold will increase in these states for the next two days
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), dry northern and northwesterly winds from the Himalayas will continue to bring severe cold to the northwestern plains for the next few days. Therefore, there is a possibility of further increase in cold in different parts of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours. Apart from this, cold wave conditions will continue in isolated parts of Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan from Saturday till next Tuesday (December 24-27).
In view of a possible drop in temperature, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert (be prepared for severe conditions) in Punjab and Haryana for today. The rest of the region will remain on Yellow Alert (‘aware’ of local weather) during this forecast period. Cold conditions will be mainly concentrated over central districts of Punjab, north-central districts of Haryana, northern districts of Uttar Pradesh and northernmost districts of Rajasthan.
