Will get relief from the heat! Forecast of rain for a week in Delhi, yellow alert in Himachal

The people of Delhi, who have been suffering from the scorching heat for many days, are now expected to get relief. It rained in some parts of the capital on Tuesday. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility that the sky may remain cloudy for the next six to seven days and there are chances of intermittent rains. This possibility has been expressed by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Indira Gandhi International Airport officials said three flights were diverted due to bad weather and two were diverted to Amritsar and one to Lucknow.
Waterlogging may occur in low-lying areas on Wednesday
The IMD said more rain is expected in the city on Tuesday night. The maximum temperature recorded at Safdarjung Observatory was 37.7 degree Celsius. This is normal for this time of the year, while the minimum temperature was 29.6 degrees Celsius. The IMD has issued a ‘yellow alert’ warning that moderate rainfall is likely to cause water-logging in low-lying areas on Wednesday, leading to traffic jams on major roads.
Clouds will remain in the capital for a week
On Wednesday, the maximum temperature is likely to be between 33 degree to 37 degree Celsius. According to the IMD, it is expected to remain cloudy with intermittent rain for the next six to seven days. Delhi has received above normal rainfall in the last four months.
Trees fell in many areas of Delhi
The IMD has predicted normal rainfall in the country in July. Municipal officials said uprooting of trees was reported from areas like Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, Minto Road, SKD Basti and Press Enclave due to strong winds.
The intensity of rainfall may increase in Gujarat as heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over three days from July 6 in parts of coastal Saurashtra and south Gujarat regions, an official said on Tuesday. On the other hand, in Himachal Pradesh too, the Meteorological Department on Tuesday issued a “yellow” alert for heavy rain, storm and lightning at isolated places in the plains, lower and middle hills of 10 districts of the state.
