Court got compensation of 67 thousand rupees

The consumer court in Assam’s Kamrup district cited the Supreme Court’s judgment in Delhi’s Uphaar cinema tragedy to award compensation to the woman. The court said that the top court had also ordered compensation to the owners of Uphaar Cinema. However, the woman had demanded Rs 6 lakh as compensation. He said that Rs 3.5 lakh should be sanctioned for mental harassment, Rs 2.5 lakh for suffering and the remaining amount for treatment. But the consumer court approved only Rs 67 thousand 282 as compensation.

Cinema hall owners had demanded dismissal of the petition

The woman said that the cinema hall owner took her to the hospital after Nanukur. Later, seeing the opportunity, he left from there too. Cinema owners said that first aid was provided to the woman on the spot. His plea should be dismissed.
