Women protest in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur for wages under MNREGA

Bihar Muzaffarpur MNREGA: In the Muzaffarpur Collectorate complex of Bihar (Bihar), women staged a sit-in demonstration (Women demand MNREGA Work) demanding wages in MNREGA. During this, hundreds of women raised their voices with poster-banners in their hands. Also raised slogans against the government.
‘Dharna-demonstration will continue till the demands are not met’
MNREGA Watch Co-ordinator Sanjay Sahni, who is leading the protest, said that we want MNREGA work to start in 125 panchayats. So far it has started in 35-40 panchayats. We have talked to DM and DDC in this regard, but no solution has been found so far. He said that till our demands are not met, this protest will continue like this.
Let me tell you, the MNREGA Watch’s indefinite sit-in demonstration started on Tuesday in the Muzaffarpur Collectorate complex of Bihar. In which MNREGA workers participated with a stove-basket. In which a large number of women were also involved.
Food crisis on the families of MNREGA workers: Sanjay Sahni
Sanjay Sahni (Sanjay MNREGA Watch Co-ordinator), who is leading the Protest, had said that the condition of MNREGA in the district is very bad. His job card is not being made. The workers are very upset. The financial condition of his house is very bad. There is food crisis in many families. The laborers are not being paid wages even after working.
Memorandum was given to DM regarding the problem of MNREGA workers
The delegation of MNREGA Watch had also met the District Magistrate regarding the problems of MNREGA workers. A memorandum of five-point demands was submitted. In this, many demands were put forward including giving 100 days work to MNREGA workers, issuing master rolls at the same scheme site where work can be done, getting job cards made for the workers and pending payment.
