The wrestlers sitting on the dharna had announced on May 23 that there would be a Mahila Mahapanchayat on the day of the inauguration of the new Parliament.
Wrestlers Protest at Jantar-Mantar: Wrestlers, who have been on strike for the past one month, wanted to hold a mahapanchayat at the new Parliament on Sunday, but the Delhi Police stopped them. Simultaneously, the place at Jantar Mantar is being vacated by removing the tents and other belongings of the wrestlers. The wrestlers were staying here for the last one month and now their front is being removed. Sakshi Malik tweeted and called it hooliganism.
Bajrang Punia said that democracy is being murdered
Bajrang Punia told that many of his people have been put in jail, while barricading has also been done around Jantar Mantar but still he will continue the fight. He also said that the government should release its people.
Before the uproar with the Delhi Police, Bajrang Punia said, ‘Barricading has been done everywhere here. 1000-2000 of our people have been detained. Whether it is in Delhi or Haryana, the police have been stationed at his house. He is giving complete freedom to the accused and is doing this to the daughters who are demanding justice. He is inaugurating democracy but killing it.
Bajrang Punia got angry on Brijbhushan’s question
Brij Bhushan had said that he had accepted all the demands of the wrestlers and asked the wrestlers not to go to the new Parliament. Bajrang got angry on this and said, ‘Who is he to accept demands, he is only doing politics. He is saying that I will make the government bow down and we are appealing to the government to give justice to our daughters. He is talking about changing POCSO and we are demanding justice by joining hands with the law.
Players wanted to do mahapanchayat peacefully
Bajrang further said, ‘We will do peace-loving, whatever we do. I request the police administration and the government with folded hands that our people who have been detained should be released. Do not treat them like this. We will not do anything that may lead to violence, we are fighting for the respect of our daughters, we are not fighting for property.
