Wrestlers protest: Brijbhushan Sharan Singh’s statement recorded in sexual abuse case, told himself innocent in front of SIT

According to reports, Brij Bhushan has recorded his statement before the SIT constituted by the Delhi Police. It is being told that in his statement, Brij Bhushan has rejected the allegations outright. Along with this, SIT has also asked for some documents from Brij Bhushan.

According to the information given by the Delhi Police, apart from Brij Bhushan, the statements of Vinod Tomar, assistant secretary of the Wrestling Federation, have also been recorded before the SIT. Vinod Tomar is also an accused in Delhi Police’s FIR. It is being told that in this muscle before the SIT, Brij Bhushan has also presented some video evidence and mobile data in his clarification. Police say that the SIT will interrogate Brij Bhushan even further.

Let us tell you that on the basis of the complaint of women wrestlers, the Delhi Police has constituted a SIT. In this SIT, a team of 10 people has been formed under the supervision of Delhi Police along with 6 teams including 4 women policemen. This SIT is headed by a woman DCP.

Let us tell you that earlier the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has also sent notices to the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). NHRC has sought a detailed report in this matter in four weeks. The NHRC has said that non-compliance of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act is a matter of concern which affects the legal rights and dignity of sportspersons.
