Wrestlers Protest: Amid ongoing protests against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, former wrestler and Dronacharya awardee Mahavir Phogat said that the people of the country will drive out the present government like the British. Speaking about the support given by the farmer leader to the wrestlers and the intervention of farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, Mahavir Phogat said, the farmer leaders understood the sentiments of our daughters and now the whole country will unite and convert it into a decisive movement. Quoting Mahavir Phogat, India Today wrote in its report that the people of the country at large, from gram panchayats to khaps and social and farmer organizations, would witness this movement.
In Balali, popularly known as the Phogat sisters, the villagers have decided to hold a panchayat to get justice for the women wrestlers. Mahavir Phogat said, ‘I risked everything to make my daughters win medals. His condition cannot be seen today. Continuing his talk, Mahavir Phogat said, ‘The farmer leaders understood their feelings and now the whole country will be so united that the government will have to bow down. India’s top wrestlers including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia sat on a dharna against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar in January. Wrestlers have made serious allegations of sexual harassment against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The wrestlers have demanded his arrest.
