Amarnath Yatra will continue for 45 days, duration reduced due to Lok Sabha elections

Amarnath Yatra: Preparations for Lok Sabha elections 2024 have started in India. The Election Commission has announced the dates. Political parties have also started busy in social media and door-to-door campaign. Meanwhile, the duration of Amarnath Yatra has been reduced in view of the Lok Sabha elections. This time Amarnath Yatra will last only for 45 days instead of 2 months.

Let us tell you that a meeting was called at Raj Bhavan at 4 pm under the chairmanship of Amarnath Shrine Board Chairman and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. All the members were invited in this. The registration process for the Yatra will start on 15th April. Health certificates will also be issued to the passengers in some designated hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir. Every day 10,000 pilgrims are allowed to proceed towards the holy cave through the traditional Baltal and Pahalgam routes. Offline passenger registration is done in more than 500 bank branches across the country.

Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections in India will be held in seven different phases. It will start from April 19 and run till June 1. The Election Commission had announced the election schedule last week. In the first phase in 21 states and union territories, in the second phase in 13 states, in the third phase in 12 states, in the fourth phase in 10 states, in the fifth phase in eight states, in the sixth phase in seven states and in the last phase in eight states. Voting will take place in phases. Their results will come on June 4.

Facilities are being increased to increase the number of devotees of Baba during the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. Construction work is going on in Srinagar to accommodate the passengers. The closure of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway due to rain during the yatra is a big challenge. This time, in such circumstances, proper arrangements are being made to accommodate thousands of passengers on the way from Jammu to Srinagar. A record number of devotees had darshan of Baba Barfani during last year’s yatra.
