An 18 year old girl was washing her feet in the canal, suddenly a crocodile came out and dragged her away, she was not found even after two days.

An 18-year-old girl was allegedly dragged into a canal by a crocodile in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. After which there was a stir in the area and even after a two-day long rescue operation, no trace of the girl could be found. This incident took place in Dulaipurwa village of Padua police station area. According to the police, Kamini Vishwakarma was attacked by a crocodile on Tuesday evening. Dulhipur village is situated on the banks of Sharda Canal, where crocodiles often come in large numbers during the rainy season.

What do the village people say?

Giving information about this matter, the people of the village said that Kamini along with her friends had gone to the fields to graze goats on Tuesday evening. When she went to the Sharda Canal to wash her feet, a crocodile attacked her and pulled her inside the water. Her friends raised an alarm but after a while the crocodile disappeared into the water along with the girl.

Padhuwa police station and forest officials of North Kheri were informed about the incident, and a team of station in-charge Hanumant Lal Tiwari, forest range officer Bhupendra Chaudhary and forest guard Akash were sent to the spot and searched the water body but The girl has not been traced yet.

Search operation continues

“We launched an intensive search operation on boats to trace the girl, however, our efforts have yielded no results so far,” station in-charge Hanumant Lal Tiwari told PTI.

SHO Hanumant Lal Tiwari says there is no possibility of the girl’s survival now as when she was washing her feet near the canal, people saw the crocodile pounce and drag her into the water. All this happened suddenly and she could not do anything. People around the village have been cautioned not to go near the canal.
