The 24-year-old fast bowler is the 22nd player in the world and the first player from Afghanistan to take a wicket with the first ball of the debut test. Apart from Nijat, Karim Janat made his debut for Afghanistan. Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bowl first.

The matter is of the second over of the first session. Zakir Hasan was caught by wicket-keeper Afsar Jazai off Nijat’s bowling. The umpire did not give Zakir out. Nijat was sure that the ball took the edge of the bat and went to the wicketkeeper. In such a situation, Afghanistan took the review and it was successful. He got out after scoring 1 run in 2 balls. Apart from this, Masood also took the wicket of Mominul Haque. He scored 15 runs with the help of a four and a six.

Indians are also among the bowlers who took wickets on the first ball of the debut test.
