Mafia-turned-politician Ateeq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead on Saturday following the death of Ateeq Ahmed’s son Mohammad Asad in an encounter two days ago. Ateeq Ahmed, synonymous with terror in the world of Jarayam for two decades, and his brother Ashraf were in jail for a long time. Atiq was in Gujarat’s Sabarmati Jail, while Ashraf was lodged in Bareilly Jail. Both were brought to Prayagraj by the police recently for appearing in the court.
Was broken after son’s death
Earlier on April 13, the UP STF had an encounter on Thursday (April 13) with Mohammad Asad, the son of Atiq Ahmed and shooter Mohammad Ghulam, wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case of Prayagraj. Both had a reward of five lakh rupees each. Atiq was broken by the death of son Asad. At one time Atiq Ahmed had strengthened his position in politics by becoming a politician from mafia and was engaged in changing his image. But did not stop committing crimes. After the murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal, many serious cases were registered against it. Ateeq continued to commit crimes even while in jail.
