Don’t make films just keeping the box office in mind: Rajkumar Hirani

Film director Rajkumar Hirani has said about the film ‘Dinky’ directed by him that commercial success matters, but filmmakers cannot give importance to this only thing. He said that he is happy that people have appreciated his efforts to tell a humane story at a time when people are getting attracted towards action films.

Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Dinky’ is based on the illegal migration of people who travel through the dangerous illegal immigration technique ‘Dinky Route’ in search of a better life. This much talked about film comes after Shahrukh’s ‘Pathan’ and ‘Jawaan’. Both of these are big action films, which have done business of more than one thousand crore rupees each at the box office.

‘Danky’ is a gentle film which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani. It has earned Rs 300 crore. However, this film is not as successful as ‘Pathan’ and ‘Jawaan’. Hirani said that commercial success is important for me too, but I try not to give it complete importance, because when you work without keeping commercial success in mind, then you start making films like that. Whatever kind of film you want to make.

Film yearning for release due to lack of approval: Mukesh Modi

In the last few months, there has been a lot of controversy with the Censor Board. Now film producer Mukesh Modi has leveled allegations against the board. He said that due to not getting the censor certificate, his film ‘Political War’ is yearning for release. Mukesh said that the censor board did not suggest any cuts in any editing, they rejected the entire film.

He said that the film is an eye opener for the community so that they can understand how the external power is trying to break India by dividing the community on their religious basis. This film is giving a message to the society that we should remain united and not fight with each other.

The film is also motivating the community to vote for good leaders. On rejecting the film, he says I am not sure whether I will invest in India again or make a film in India. I wonder why the censor board did not approve my film, whereas my film is bringing awareness to the society.
