IND vs NZ: Sunil Gavaskar’s advice to Team India, told Rohit Sharma what to do after winning the toss
Little Master Sunil Gavaskar says that the form the Indian bowlers are in, it does not matter whether they bowl first or second in the World Cup semi-final match against New Zealand. However, his advice is that defending the target will be beneficial for Team India. Rohit Sharma’s decision to bat first after winning the toss will put scoreboard pressure on the Kiwis.
Sunil Gavaskar talked about pitch conditions and toss on Star Sports’ Game Plan show. He said, “If you have a good bowling attack like India, then bowling first or second does not matter. If the team is bowling in the second innings, it will help because we have seen that the ball goes to the wicketkeeper a little faster when there is light dew.”
Scoreboard pressure on New Zealand
Gavaskar said, “This will help the three bowlers in the Indian line-up. A spinner like Kuldeep Yadav will also help in making the ball skid faster off the pitch. If India defends the target while bowling second, I believe that will also help because there will be scoreboard pressure. You will be able to score 260 or 270 runs, not 400, but there will be pressure on New Zealand.”
