Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “Manish is innocent. His arrest is dirty politics. There is a lot of anger among the people due to the arrest of Manish. Everyone is watching. People are understanding everything. People will respond to this. This will increase our spirits further. Our struggle will get stronger.”

Ahead of Sisodia’s arrest by the CBI on Sunday in a case related to Delhi’s excise policy, he said he may end up in jail for 7-8 months but is not one to be intimidated by false and fabricated cases. Before the arrest, Manish Sisodia said, ‘Arvind Kejriwal is my guru in politics. He has given me a lot of love and respect. I want to tell him that Kejriwal ji, you keep working. I may have to stay in jail for 7-8 months but the country needs a leader like you. Keep serving the people. We have full faith in you. We are not afraid of these jails, false and fabricated cases. Even the CBI-ED who have registered these fake cases know that we have done nothing wrong, they are under pressure’
Manish Sisodia is the biggest name in Aam Aadmi Party after Arvind Kejriwal. He handles the portfolios like Education, Finance, Vigilance and Labor in the Government of Delhi. Minister Satyendar Jain was also given the charge of key departments like Health, Public Works Department and Home after he was arrested. In this context, Manish Sisodia is an important person not only for Arvind Kejriwal but also for the government.
Why this arrest can become a big challenge for Aam Aadmi Party?
According to sources in the Aam Aadmi Party, the party leadership is looking very restless after this arrest. The arrest comes at a time when the party chief and CM Kejriwal are planning a fresh entry into national politics. After AAP is granted national party status, Kejriwal will go on a tour next month to four states – Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan – to expand its electoral prospects. But after this arrest, the party’s plan seems to be getting a setback.
