One crore will be given to every panchayat, 50 thousand government jobs will be removed, announced by Rahul Gandhi in Karnataka

Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Congress party would form the next government in Karnataka by winning 150 seats.

The Congress party is staking claim to form the government in the Karnataka elections. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday promised Rs 1 crore to each gram panchayat if his party is voted to power in the May 10 assembly elections. Also, Rs 5,000 crore will be allocated for the Kalyana Karnataka region. During the rain, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi addressed the election rally. Apart from this, he also promised to fill the vacant posts of 50,000 government jobs.

Addressing a public meeting in Kalaburagi district, Rahul Gandhi said, “We will allocate Rs 5,000 crore for this area. Each gram panchayat will get Rs 1 crore.” The Kalyana Karnataka region includes the districts of Bidar, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Kalaburagi, Ballari and Vijayanagara. He also predicted the election and said that only 40 seats will come for the ruling BJP.

Rahul Gandhi alleged that BJP ministers in Karnataka collected 40 per cent commission from contractors for public works and hence the party would not get more than 40 seats. At the same time, Rahul claimed that the Congress would form the next government by winning 150 seats.

Describing the present BJP government as a government of theft, Rahul Gandhi said that the ruling party has bought the MLAs of the opposition. He said, “We are going to form the government. No one can stop our party from coming to power.”

Rahul also reiterated the four key “guarantees” of the Congress. These include Rs 2,000 to the female head of the household, 200 units of free electricity per household, Rs 3,000 to unemployed graduate youth and Rs 1,500 to unemployed diploma holders (both in the age group of 18 to 25 years) for two years, and BPL families 10 kg of rice per month to each member. Apart from this, Rahul Gandhi also announced the fifth “guarantee” of the party on Thursday. He said that free bus ride facility would be available for women in public transport buses.
