In view of the deteriorating situation in Pakistan, the Twitter service has been suspended. At the same time, the Pakistan Telecom Authority confirmed that mobile broadband has been suspended across the country on the instructions of the Ministry of Interior. According to media reports, all social media sites including WhatsApp and Facebook were also blocked.

After Imran’s arrest, PTI general secretary Asad Umar tweeted that a six-member committee headed by the party’s vice-president Shah Mehmood Qureshi would decide what to do and what not to do. The Islamabad High Court has reserved its verdict on the legality of Imran Khan’s arrest. Islamabad High Court ordered Interior Minister Secretary and Islamabad Police Chief to appear in court within 15 minutes of Imran Khan’s arrest. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that Imran did not appear in the court after several notices were issued in the case. NAB has arrested him on the charges of causing loss to the exchequer. No ill-treatment has been done to them.
