Punjab Police arrests two Lashkar-e-Taiba suspects, claims to have busted terrorist module
Punjab Police on Saturday claimed to have busted a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) terror module by arresting two residents of Jammu and Kashmir. Police said that two IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices), two hand grenades, one pistol, two magazines, 24 cartridges, one timer switch, eight detonators and four batteries were recovered from the arrested suspects.
DGP said, “Both the suspects are residents of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) of Amritsar Police carried out the operation in collaboration with a central agency. He said on social media platform Who are residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
Were trying to disturb peace in Punjab
Yadav said that the operation of the terrorist module was being handled by Firdous Ahmed Bhat, an active member of Lashkar-e-Taiba. He termed the arrest of the two suspects as “a major blow to the terror module trying to disturb peace in Punjab”.
Security forces killed 2 Lashkar terrorists in Shopian
Earlier, the encounter between security forces and terrorists started late on Monday night in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. This encounter started late on Monday night. After this the security forces fought the terrorists. During the encounter, security forces killed two terrorists. After the encounter, the search operation of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Indian Army is going on.
Indian security forces and police are engaged in combating the terrorists with full force. Kashmir Police Zone, in a post on social media site X, said that an encounter is going on in Alshipora area of Shopian. Police and security forces have maintained their position.
On February 26 this year, terrorists shot dead Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma in Achchan village of Pulwama. Sanjay Sharma was working as a bank guard in a bank in the valley. After this, many protests also took place in Kashmir.
