Research on ancient Indian knowledge tradition will be done in Delhi University

To fulfill the objective of taking the ancient Indian knowledge tradition to the whole world, the Center for Indian Knowledge Tradition is being started in Ramanujan College of Delhi University (DU). This center will be launched on December 22 on the occasion of Geeta Jayanti and the birthday of the great scientist Ramanujan.

On the same day, a 20-day certificate course on Srimad Bhagwat-Gita enlightenment and relevance will also begin. Jigar Inamdar, Chairman of the Governing Body of Ramanujan College, said that the whole world will benefit from the exploration of ancient Indian knowledge tradition through ‘Bharatam: Center for Study, Research and Study of Indian Knowledge Traditions’. He told that three aspects of this center have been determined.

First, which are the topics which are as relevant today as they were before? Second, to identify who are the present experts or experts on those subjects. And thirdly, it involves recording lectures of experts on prescribed topics. Inamdar said that this center will work to preserve the important knowledge gained through research and exploration for future generations.

This center will also illuminate the contemporary education system in the unique light of ancient knowledge traditions. The center aims to disseminate and preserve knowledge related to the Indian value system through systematic study of ancient texts and literature. This heritage of ancient knowledge obtained from the churning of Ganga will fulfill contemporary needs and long-term objectives.

The multifaceted approach of this center will not only preserve and disseminate knowledge but also provide a platform for active interaction with teachers and learners. Through a variety of programs, workshops and courses on Indian knowledge systems, ‘Bharatham’ aims to facilitate a deeper understanding of the ancient texts and facilitate meaningful dialogue. ‘Bharatam’ seeks to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity by promoting topics relevant to the present times that are essential for the long-term development of the nation.

Inamdar told that the first course of the center will start on December 22 itself. Swami Paramatmanand Saraswati will inaugurate the 20-day certificate course on Srimad Bhagwat-Gita enlightenment and relevance, available online and offline. Nirmalanandanath Mahaswami will also be present on this occasion. He told that during this course, eight chapters of Geeta will be taught in detail.

He told that this course provides an in-depth knowledge of each chapter of Srimad Bhagavad-Gita and presents its philosophical concepts. This course is organically aligned with the objective of the Indian Knowledge Tradition Centre, which will prove to be a milestone in the preservation and dissemination of the thinking rooted in the Indian Knowledge Tradition.

Srimad Bhagavad Gita is a spiritual guide for life that contains important, timeless lessons on the path of duty, dharma and self-realization. By engaging with it, the participants will not only enrich their spiritual understanding but also become familiar with the cultural and philosophical heritage of India.
