The veteran who made Australia T20 champion can become the new coach of KL Rahul’s team, Andy Flower may be discharged

IPL franchise Lucknow Supergiants are in talks with Justin Langer to make a major change in their coaching staff. Talks are going on between this franchise and Langer and if all goes well, Justin Langer can be appointed as the new coach of this team. If the new coach of the team is made then Andy Flower may be discharged. Andy Flower was the coach of this team for the last two years and his contract ended after IPL 2023. If the Lucknow deal with Langer materialises, then he can debut as a coach in IPL 2024. Prior to this, Langer has not played the role of coach for any IPL team in the last 16 seasons.

KL Rahul can get support of Justin Langer

Justin Langer is a well-known coach in franchise cricket and international cricket and has led the Perth Scorchers to four title victories in the Big Bash League. Australia’s team won the T20 World Cup title for the first time in the year 2021 under Langer’s coaching. He resigned from the post of coach of the Australian team in February 2022. The Kangaroo team became T20 champions under Langer’s coach, but after that the team suffered back-to-back defeats in two Test series at home. If Langer joins the Lucknow team, he will work with Gautam Gambhir, Morne Morkel, Vijay Dahiya and Jonty Rhodes for this team.

Lucknow Super Giants team was associated with IPL in the year 2022 and since then KL Rahul is the captain of the team. Under the captaincy of Rahul, this team has performed well in both the seasons. In IPL 2022 and 2023, this team reached the Super Four, but could not reach the finals. In 2022, the Lucknow team was defeated by RCB in the Eliminator match, while in 2023, Krunal Pandya captained the team after KL Rahul was injured, but in the Eliminator match this season, Lucknow was defeated by Mumbai Indians. The defeat had to be faced and the dream of winning the IPL title of this team was shattered.
