Due to Covid, the condition of the film industry was deteriorating for the last several years. In these few years, the film world was not only facing financial losses, people associated with the film industry also had to go through a lot of mental torture. In 2022, the situation in the film world seemed to be improving slightly, but despite this, the film industry suffered huge losses due to the failure of many films.

Talking about 2023, after Covid, 2023 has brought a lot of happiness for the film industry. The earnings of many films like ‘Pathan’, ‘Jawaan’, ‘Gadar 2’ etc. have crossed the figure of Rs 500 to Rs 1000. According to film critics, an earning of around Rs 11000 to 12000 crore can be expected this year.

Because while films with a bigger budget and bigger stars have done business, ‘Dream Girl 2’, ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’, Salman Khan’s niece Alizeh’s first film ‘Farre’, Vikrant Massey’s ’12th Fail’, and Small budget films like ‘The Kerala Story’ have also been successful at the box office. The last 6 months of 2023 were happy for Bollywood. The next six months were disappointing for the film industry and Bollywood due to poor films. In the beginning of 2023, along with the immense success of ‘Pathan’, many films like ‘The Kerala Story’, ‘Dream Girl 2’, ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’, ‘Raaki Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ did very good business. It seemed that now the situation in the film industry would improve to a great extent. But in the next half of 2023, the film industry had to face a big failure in the beginning of the films.

Actor Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Mission Raniganj’, director Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘Vaccine War’ starring Nana Patekar and Sooraj Badjatya’s son Avnish Badjatya’s and Sunny Deol’s son Rajveer Deol, Poonam Dhillon’s daughter Paloma starrer ‘Both’ have created a buzz for the audience. Not only the producers but also the producers had high expectations, all those films failed.

Not only this, Ekta Kapoor’s film ‘Thank You for Coming’ also failed at the box office within a week. Apart from this, the fate of ‘Fukrey 3’ was also very bad at the box office. In such a situation, the film world was very happy about the success of Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’, Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Jawaan’, and Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Dream Girl 2’.

At the same time, the failure of big films released in the months of September and October of 2023 has once again disappointed the producers and the audience. Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger 3’ is doing good business. The 10 day business of this film has reached close to Rs 4.30 hundred crores. Along with this, Salman Khan’s niece’s film ‘Farre’ has also done good business at the box office.

In the year 2023, Vishal Bhardwaj’s film ‘Kutte’ could not even recover its cost. After this ‘Mission Majnu’ also got defeated. Shahrukh Khan’s film ‘Pathan’ broke all records at the box office. Whereas Akshay Kumar’s ‘Selfie’ failed at the box office. Before this, five more films of Akshay Kumar have flopped.

While Ajay Devgan’s ‘Bhola’ remained average, Salman Khan’s ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ flopped. Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Raki Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ was successful. Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Jawaan’ got tremendous success. Prabhas’s ‘Adi Purush’ got bombed. While Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Dream Girl’ was successful, ‘Satya Prem Ki Katha’ did average business. Ekta Kapoor’s film ‘Thank You for Coming’ flopped.

Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘Vaccine War’ also did not work. The business of Sooraj Barjatya’s film ‘Dono’ was disappointing, however, people have high expectations from the films releasing in 2023 in which the producers have invested crores of rupees. It is possible that the upcoming films will create a stir at the box office and the success of these films may improve the deteriorating condition of the film industry. Many such films are being released in 2023 which are expected to earn Rs 500 to 1000 crores. Shahrukh Khan’s film ‘Dinky’ directed by Raju Hirani is being made with a budget of Rs 100 crore. That film is expected to earn better than ‘Jawaan’. This film is going to be released at the end of the year on 22nd December.

Apart from this, Prabhas starrer ‘Salaar’ and Ajay Devgan starrer ‘Maidan’, Kangana starrer Emergency are being screened. Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sem Bahadur’, Sidharth Malhotra’s Yoddha, Katrina Kaif’s ‘Merry Christmas’, Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ are going to be released in the month of December. Apart from Siddharth Malhotra’s ‘Yodha’, many big films are also being released in 2024. Like, after the performance of ‘Project K’, ‘Pushpa 2’, ‘Indian 2’, ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’, ‘Fighter’, the situation in the film world is likely to improve.
