Video of fungus tainted lassi went viral, AMUL warns customers to clarify

A video showing fungus in packaged lassi of dairy brand Amul has gone viral on social media. A clarification has been issued on behalf of Amul on this video. The company claimed that the video is fake and termed it as an attempt to spread misinformation and fear among customers.

What did Amul say on the viral video?

The viral video shows packets of Amul Lassi, one of which is set to expire on October 12 this year. When a man opens its upper part, a fungus-like substance is shown on the top itself, which is visible on the top of the lassi. Amul said- “The fake message is going viral on social media, the creator of the video has neither contacted us for clarification nor disclosed his location.”

Amul’s advice to customers

Amul has also said that there is a hole in place of the straw from where leakage is also visible. Due to this hole, fungus must have been there, probably the video maker already knew about it. Amul has also advised its customers not to buy bloated and leaky packets. It has also been said that this video has been made for the purpose of instilling fear among the people.
