Wahab Riaz’s U-turn on Haris Rauf, know what he said on giving NOC for BBL?

Pakistan Cricket Team Chief Selector Wahab Riaz had heavily criticized fast bowler Haris Rauf for refusing to play the Test series on Australia tour, but now he has taken a U-turn and given a no objection letter to Rauf to play in the ‘Big Bash League’. (NOC) defended the decision. He said that NOC was given to Rauf so that he would be ready to play the T20 series against New Zealand.

Wahab Riaz had criticized Haris Rauf while announcing Pakistan’s Test team for the Test series against Australia last month. The reason for this was Rauf not being selected for the three-match series in Australia. Now while talking to the media on Saturday, Wahab said that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given NOC so that Haris remains in form in the T20 series in New Zealand.

The momentum should be maintained before the T20 series against New Zealand

Regarding Rauf, Wahab said, “There is still one and a half month time till the New Zealand series and during this period Haris is not playing any cricket. His Big Bash contract with Cricket Australia is for only five matches. There will be no cricket for one and a half months and he is a fast bowler, so it has to be ensured that his rhythm continues.

NOC from 7th to 28th December

Regarding Rauf, Wahab further said, “For this reason we have given him NOC, which is from 7th to 28th December. In this, five matches of Big Bash League will be covered so that he can leave for New Zealand tour with the Pakistani team. This is the reason behind giving NOC.” Wahab thus took a U-turn from his previous statement, in which he had criticized Haris for withdrawing from the Australia tour.
