Manoj Bajpayee recalled his Struggle days and told how he had sought a film from Ram Gopal Varma to pay the rent of his house.

The actor is best known for his stellar performances in films like Satya, Shool, Pinjar, Gangs of Wasseypur and many more. However, he had to struggle a lot to reach the point where Manoj is today. There was a time when Manoj Bajpayee had to ask director Ram Gopal Varma for a film.
When the actor came to meet Ram Gopal Varma
Recalling his days of struggle, Manoj Bajpayee recently while talking with Sayaji Shinde in Sha Bol Bhabhu told that I had gone to meet Ram Gopal Varma for the film Daud. There were 3-4 small roles in that film which were written by Kannan Iyer. When I reached there, Ram Gopal Varma asked that you have worked in any film. I said, Bandid Queen. He said that Bandid Queen is my favorite film, what was his role in it. I said, you sir will not be able to recognize, my silent role was of Man Singh. Hearing this, he stood at his place and said that I have been looking for you for four years.
Didn’t have money to pay house rent
Manoj further says that Ram Gopal Varma told me that ‘You leave the race, I have another film for you. It was nice to hear from me, but I needed the money. So I said sir when it will happen, let me do it because I need money. This money will go towards my house rent. He told me ok do it. For this you will get 30 thousand rupees. This much money was a lot for me. In this amount, the whole year’s rent of my house would have been deposited.
