After the attack, Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad said, ‘I don’t remember but my people have identified him. His car ran ahead towards Saharanpur. We took a U turn. Our car was the only one, there were a total of 5 people. Our fellow doctor may also have got bullet injuries.’

As soon as the information about the attack on Chandrashekhar Azad came, the police-administration has reached the spot. The whole matter is being investigated as to who were the people who fired at the president of Azad Samaj Party. What was the purpose of those people behind this? SSP Dr. Vipin Tada said, ‘Some car-borne armed men fired at Chandrashekhar Azad’s convoy. A bullet passed by him. He is fine and has been taken to CHC for treatment. The police is investigating the matter.’

Information about the attack was also tweeted by Chandrashekhar’s political party Azad Samaj Party. The party wrote in a tweet, ‘There has been a fatal attack on National President Chandrashekhar Azad in Deoband. This is a cowardly act to stop the Bahujan Mission Movement. Demand immediate arrest of the accused, strict action and protection of Chandrashekhar Azad.
