Mission Raniganj Box Office Collection Day 1: Akshay Kumar’s ‘Mission Raniganj’ could not do wonders at the box office, disappointing performance on the opening day

Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra starrer film ‘Mission Raniganj’ was released in theaters on 6 October. The story of the film is based on the story of real life hero Jaswant Singh Gill. Who saved the lives of 65 miners trapped in a flood in a coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal in 1989. Akshay Kumar has played the role of Jaswant Singh in this film. But the film did not perform well on the opening day. Mission Raniganj (The Great Indian Rescue) collected only Rs 2.80 crore on the first day.

According to industry tracking website Sacknilk, the film’s first day box office collection was Rs 2.80 crore. Box office numbers show that the film has taken a slightly better opening than ‘Selfie’ (2022). This film was released earlier this year, which earned Rs 1.30 on the first day. However, ‘Mission Raniganj’ was expected to have a slow start as there was no holiday on the release day. Due to which the film would have benefited like other films. Along with this, the film was not promoted much.

Let us tell you that for many years Akshay Kumar gave hit after hit films. Most of which films crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. After the lockdown imposed during the Corona epidemic, Akshay Kumar was very much liked in ‘Sooryavanshi’ directed by Rohit Shetty. After Covid 19, the film earned more than expected. After years, this film was successful in bringing the audience to the theatres. Sooryavanshi had a total collection of 120 crores.

However, after this, the year 2022 proved to be very bad for Akshay Kumar. Many of his films flopped one after the other. ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Rakshabandhan’, ‘Ram Sethu’, ‘Prithviraj’ and ‘Selfie’, not a single one of his films could do wonders at the box office. ‘Bachchan Pandey’ did a total business of Rs 49.98 crore. ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ had earned Rs 68.05 crore.

Talking about ‘Rakshabandhan’, this film had earned Rs 44.39 crores, ‘Selfie’ had earned only Rs 16.85 crores. Of these, ‘Ram Setu’ had the highest collection, which was Rs 71.87 crore. But the year 2023 is proving to be lucky for Akshay Kumar. His film OMG 2 proved to be a blockbuster. The film has collected more than 150 crores at the box office.
