Maruti Baleno

Maruti Suzuki continued its reign over the Indian car market in September with Baleno becoming the best seller and taking the top position. The premium hatchback recorded sales of 18,417 units in September this year, resulting in a 5% year-on-year decline. In the same period last year, Maruti had sold 19,369 units of Baleno.

Maruti WagonR

After Baleno came another Maruti, this time the registered monthly sale number of WagonR was 16,250. However, the tall-boy hatch recorded a 19% year-on-year decline as the Indo-Japanese carmaker sold 20,078 units of the WagonR in September last year.

Tata Nexon

Tata Nexon became the third best selling car overall and best selling SUV in the month of September 2023. The subcompact crossover recorded sales of 15,325 units in September this year, resulting in a growth of 6% year-on-year. Tata Motors recently launched the new edition of Nexon in September itself, which could possibly be the main reason for the increase in sales of Nexon.

Maruti Swift remained at fifth position with monthly sales of 14,703 units in September. During the same month last year, Maruti sold 11,988 units of the hatchback, resulting in a growth of 23% year-on-year.
