Case of Atiq-Ashraf and Vikas Dubey reached Supreme Court, Advocate filed PIL and said- 183 encounters should be investigated

An advocate has filed a PIL demanding that the apex court constitute a commission headed by one of its retired justices. Who should see how Atiq and Ashraf were murdered in police custody.

The case of murder of Uttar Pradesh’s dreaded criminal Atiq Ahmed along with his brother has reached the Supreme Court. An advocate has filed a PIL demanding that the apex court constitute a commission headed by one of its retired justices. Who should see how Atiq and Ashraf were murdered in police custody. The case of gangster Vikas Dubey of Kanpur has also been mentioned in the petition. Advocate says that 183 police encounters in Yogi Raj since 2017 are suspicious. The Supreme Court should find out how the police is taking the law into its own hands.

Advocate Vishal Tiwari has said in the petition that the manner in which Atiq and his brother were killed in police custody is pointing towards some deep conspiracy. The police had to protect both the brothers. Only the court has the right to punish them. But the way both were killed, it is clear that there was some or the other connivance of the police. Both were killed because of the police. This is totally wrong.

Under Yogi rule criminals are being killed one by one

Vishal Tiwari says that the truth will be known if the Supreme Court sets up a commission of inquiry under the leadership of one of its retired judges. He says that the manner in which criminals are being killed one after the other under the rule of the Yogi government, should also be investigated. Since 2017, 183 encounters have been done by the police. The Supreme Court should find out the truth behind everyone.

Keep in mind that Atiq and his brother Ashraf were murdered on Saturday night when both were being taken to a hospital in Prayagraj for medical treatment under police protection. Three assailants come suddenly and shoot both the brothers with impunity. Both die on the spot in the attack. The police personnel who were responsible for the security of both of them run away from the spot.

Retired Justice Chauhan raised questions on Vikas Dubey encounter

It has been said in the petition that the police has become unbridled. This is fatal for a good democracy. The fear of the police has become in the minds of the people. How can the police be allowed to be so unbridled in a democracy. The Supreme Court constituted a three-member inquiry commission headed by retired Supreme Court Justice BS Chauhan in the Vikas Dubey encounter case. The commission has directly raised questions on the police.

Vishal Tiwari has also mentioned Kanpur’s gangster Vikas Dubey in his petition. He says that Vikas Dubey was also killed by the police in a fake encounter. First the car was overturned and then he was chased and shot. The police is behaving as if it is the final authority. Whereas after arresting any criminal, he has to be produced in the court. After considering the witnesses and evidence, the court convicts him.
