Now there is news that Umesh has not been dropped from the team. He is injured and is rehabbing at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. There is an update about Pujara that the doors are not closed for him.

Team selection for the T20 series is yet to be done and it has been learned that Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Rinku Singh may get a chance in domestic cricket for Uttar Pradesh and Indian Premier League (IPL). Team India will play a 3-match ODI series after the 2-match Test series on the Caribbean tour. After this the 5-match T20 series will be played.
Umesh Yadav injured
Regarding Umesh Yadav, the Times of India quoted a source in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as saying, “Umesh is suffering from a hamstring injury and is rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.” There was speculation that the 35-year-old Umesh was dropped from the team after an average performance (0-77 and 2-54) in the final of the World Test Championship against Australia at The Oval earlier this month.
Door not closed for Cheteshwar Pujara
The selectors haven’t shut the door on Umesh, who has taken 170 wickets in 57 Tests, or veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, who has been dropped from the Test team. The source said, “If Ajinkya Rahane can be made the vice-captain of the Test team after being out for 15 months before the WTC final, then anyone can make a comeback. The doors are not closed for any senior player.” He said, “It is just that you need to start the change somewhere. The selectors don’t want a situation where all the seniors leave the team in one go and we are left with no experienced players in the dressing room.”
Rinku Singh in T20 team?
Rinku Singh scored 474 runs in 14 matches for Kolkata in IPL 2023 at an average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.52. He is certain to be selected for the five-match T20I series. The series will begin on August 3 in Tarouaba, Trinidad and Tobago. Mohammed Shami has been rested from the Test and ODI series. He is likely to be rested from the T20 series as well.
