The leaders of the alliance have gone a step ahead in the ongoing exercise for the unity of the opposition parties to counter the Modi government. This alliance has been named ‘India’. The full form of India is the Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance. Talking to the media after the meeting of opposition parties, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the name of our alliance will be INDIA.
He said that instead of UPA its name will be INDIA. He said that all the parties have agreed on this. During this, he also informed that now the next meeting of the opposition will be held in Mumbai. He further said that a coordination committee of 11 members will be formed in the opposition alliance and the names of its members will be announced in the next meeting to be held in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
While talking to the media, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee challenged the BJP and said that BJP and NDA, can you challenge ‘India’? He claimed that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, ‘India’ would win and the BJP would lose. During this, Arvind Kejriwal said that we have gathered to save the country and to build a new India.
India’s new secretariat to be built in Delhi
Mallikarjun Kharge said, “PM Modi has captured the entire media. No one moves forward without his signal. In my active political career of 52 years, I have not seen such a situation in which the opposition voice is crushed. He said that a secretariat of INDIA would be set up in Delhi for the elections. The names for its committee will be decided soon. The next meeting of the opposition will be held in Maharashtra.
Quoting sources, it is being said that it has been proposed by Rahul Gandhi. It is being speculated that many MLAs and MPs have given consent to this name and have tweeted this name. Means it is proposed to keep INDIA in short. Janata Dal United (JDU), Rashtriya Janata Dal and Shiv Sena (UBT) have also confirmed this by tweeting.
Sources say that Sonia Gandhi will be made the chairperson of this INDIA alliance. It is being told that all the parties have agreed on this. Earlier, the leaders of all the parties involved in the meeting unanimously agreed to work unitedly and firmly to take on the Modi government in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, “We are 26 parties and have governments in 11 states. The BJP itself did not get 303 seats, it itself took the votes of allies and threw them out later.” Taking a jibe at the NDA meeting on Tuesday, he said, “BJP president JP Nadda and party leaders are moving from state to state to connect old allies.”
