Nazir Ali’s daughter was married on Sunday, July 2, in Ghasipur Tand village of Fakharpur police station in the district. The procession had come from Dhakherwa Wazirganj of neighboring Bondi police station. Everything was going great. When the baraat reached Nazir Ali’s door, there started singing and dancing on the DJ. People from the groom’s side were singing and dancing on film songs.
Qazi said that singing and dancing is against Islamic rituals
After the reception and food and water, when the Qazi reached for Nikah, he got angry seeing the dance and DJ there. He clearly told both the parties that he cannot get the marriage solemnized. He said that singing DJ and dancing is against Islamic rituals. In such a situation, he cannot get Nikah read at all. His announcement in front of the full procession and the relatives and guests of both the sides caused silence.
However, after the consent of the elders, the groom’s father and elder brother apologized to the Qazi in front of him for this and promised that they would not allow such DJs and dance songs to happen at the time of Nikah in future also. After this the Qazi agreed to conduct the Nikah.
At the behest of the groom’s father, dancing and DJ were stopped there. After getting the marriage read, the rest of the rituals were completed peacefully and happily. There was a lot of discussion about this incident in the surrounding areas. The qazi who conducted the marriage took a promise from the groom’s father that if something like this happened again in future, he would have to deposit five thousand rupees.
